A Forever Family

Yesterday redeemed my feelings about 2009...its been a hard year. A year of pain, struggles, joys and wonder.

The faith has been there...

We knew this day would come we just didnt know when...

And this morning as I watch little Gavin toddle around the house.

Tyson encouraging him in his endeavors..."Come on Gavi. I will help you"

I cant help but feel my eyes fill with tears...

They are a FOREVER FAMILY...

I feel the stress and tension leave my body...

I see the relief in my son and DIL eyes...

We fianlly were able to see Gavin blessed by his father...

It was a day full of miracles...

I had the priviledge of holding Gavins hand on his parents as they were sealed. He wanted to get up. I wasnt about to let that hand go. This would be forever. A few minutes of crying was nothing compared to the tears that have been shed this year.

It was joyous having all my kids in the Temple that are in the country...but knowing that each one of my children could enter the House of the Lord was the real joy!
“What a blessing to have once again on the earth the sealing authority, not only for this mortal life but for the eternities.”
We are grateful for the sealing power...in fact...feel special that we get to go to the Temple each time to seal these precious children. It has been a journey, a challenging one at times.
I have felt your prayers for our family. I am thankful for your fasting. For your pleadings. I have felt loved...the words seem so trivial but
THANK YOU!!!!
"Because Jesus Christ suffered greatly, He understands our suffering. He understands our grief. . . . Sometimes the very moments that seem to overcome us with suffering are those that will ultimately suffer us to overcome."

D-Day

Today at 1:30 Utah time we will be in the court room where Joniece relinquished her rights...where the trial was last month to hear the ruling on Gavins adoption.

It is a scary time. it is a hopeful time. It is a time to exercise more faith than I have ever had to.

As I have snuggled and loved on him today several times tears have welled in my eyes.

He belongs to our family.

He has a right to be sealed to a family for time & eternity

He has a right to have a mom & dad who cherish him

An extended family that will be there to support him thru the trials and joys of his life.

He has a right to have his big brother who says " i love you Gavi"

So today at 1:30 his life will be determined by a judge who will either give him all those rights or take them away.

And so I say another prayer...the 100 something one this morning...that the judge will give him all the rights he deserves!

57 DAY FAST

Is this the most precious face you have ever seen?
We have been in a fight for him for a year. He was placed in Josh & Lindsey's home over a year ago by his birthmom...she wanted him to have a mom & a dad who loved each other. She wanted him in a stable home and a loving extended family
We went to court friday.
The judge will rule sometime in the next 57 days.
The birth father as he was walking out of court...court of lies...he told many...he stuck his tongue out at our birthmom.
I wished I had seen him. I have alot to say to him.
Where have you been?
Where were you when he had to have surgery?
Where were you when the bills needed to be paid?
Where were you when he fell down and needed a hug?
You have never asked about him
But you want to rip him out of the only family he knows?
You love him that much huh?
When you told her to have an abortion...you wanted him then?
So here we are 57 days and waiting...praying for much earlier.
I have asked all of my friends to pick a day in the next 57 days to fast and pray for Judge Kouris to keep Gavin in the R house.
Everyday that we have prayers and fasting will help him make the right decision. We dont know what day that will be...maybe it will be the day you pick to fast.
So pick a day...any day...fast starting at noon to noon the next day.
I dont want a minute without constant prayers coming from many sources directed to the heavens.
Josh & Lindsey have asked our family and friends to unite in prayer & fasting on this sunday.
And to attend the Temple if you can on Saturday.
We will be in the Washington DC Temple for several hours on saturday!
Come join us!
I know as we unite our prayers will be answered
"Petitioning Heavenly Father for the blessings we desire in our personal lives is good and proper. However, praying earnestly for others, both those whom we love and those who despitefully use us, is also an important element of meaningful prayer. Just as expressing gratitude more often in our prayers enlarges the conduit for revelation, so praying for others with all of the energy of our souls increases our capacity to hear and to heed the voice of the Lord." David Bednar
A big Thank you to all that have already emailed me FB me and called me with your willingness to unite with our family. I feel your love!
I have the most amazing friends!
THANK YOU!

G-Baby's Surgery

G-Baby goes in today for surgery. He was born with a branchial cleft fistula. It is basically a hole in his throat. Mrs. R found it the first day she got him. It was very tiny but was oozing liquid. It is a common surgery but depending on where the fistual goes and what it is wrapped around it can be complicated. Luckily the surgeon at Primary Childrens Hospital doing the surgery has done many. He just went into surgery a few minutes ago..keep him in your prayers. I will update as soon as I know anything!
UPDATE:
G-Baby's surgery went well. It took longer than they had planned because it was wrapped around an artery and his tonsil so they took the tonsil out! He is struggling to eat well. If he doesnt start eating better they will readmit him. He wimpered most of the night and they said the 3rd day will be the worst as far as pain goes. we are glad it's over but we want you to get well!
