Hola mi familia y amigos! I have now been in my area for 4 days and I seriously don´t even know where to begin...Let´s start with my trip. I left the MTC at 8 in the morning on wednesday. Flew to texas, got on a plane to Argentina that went over night. I got into Buenos Aires where I was picked up by Damian who didn't speak any English...and my Spanish still stinks so you can imagine how our conversation went. We had 4 hours to waste so I took a few pics at the temple and he dropped me off at the church head quarters to hang out for a bit and then took me to grab some amazing empenladas to take on my next bus ride. A 5 hour ride to Rosario. I was picked up by me Super cute blonde companion Hna Burns from Texas whose spanish is wonderful and the Zone leaders. They took me to my interview with the Pres which lasted 10 min and then we had to head back to the bus station to get on our bus to Santa Fe which was 2 hours, then grabbed a few more treats while we waited for our bus to my FIRST area which took another 2 hours. WE finally got in at 1 am and made some contacts while we waited for our district leader! A super fun way to start the mission! Seriously, I loved it.My companion is seriously amazing. I got SO lucky. She is super fun and focused. A perfect balance. Her Spanish is amazing and I really don´t think I will ever be that good. We got straight to work planning out our week and contacts. Its really hard to remember the names and the Spanish is different then how people talked in the MTC so the accent is a little rough getting used to.Everyone here drives MOPEDS, seriously EVERYONE. They fit like 4 people on at once. Babies sit in front or people just hold them as they ride around, its crazy! It is pretty modernized here but still is VERY different. Our shower is the Bathroom, We have a bucket that hangs right next to the toilet, no curtain. The bucket is only about 5 feet from the ground so i have to bend to use it. We fill it up in the morning, plug it in to heat up the water add some more water to cool it down and then it is ready to go! But honestly, I love it. A mission wouldn't be a mission without this kind of stuff.I haven´t felt this exhausted in a long time. We walk everywhere and fast. I am totally out of shape. We have appointments all the time but mostly just because people are nice. Its hard because we are having to relly try and figure out who is interested or who just wants to hang out with us. We have NO time to mess around. It is nice. I am here to work and really learning how to use each moment. Our branch is wonderful, the people are some humble and awesome. They lack a little bit of understanding of how things should be. For instance the teacher said in Gospel Doctrine that it is okay to only go to church once a month if you can´t the rest of the time, or only read every otherday. Of course my comp was having to translate for me and finally I raised my hang and in my broken spanish said something about how we need to go EVERY week and pray EVERYDAY. When I talk everyone stops and listens intently because they have to or they don't understand what I am saying haha.I am trying to be patient with the language but it is hard at times. I wish I could express myself. But I know the Lord is teaching and using me. I have felt the spirit work through me as we teach with the few words I say. I LOVE being a missionary. It really is hard at times but that is how it is suppose to be.I love you all. I miss you tons. I don't have a specific address, just send all the mail to the Mission home!Love Hna Redfern

I stumbled onto your blog through Kara's. I remember Poncho from Dixie. I was Kara Van Wagoner Hunt and Karen McKnight Esplin's roommates. I love Wiliamsburg! You are so lucky to live there! Best to you, your family, and especially your missionaries!
