HOLA!!!!First of all thanks again to all of you who sent me birthday wishes! They were wonderful! It has been an extremely eventful week a TON of ups and a few HARD downs but we have managed to rise above it all and really enjoy the work that we are doing. My companion is wonderful. She has reminded me to enjoy my mission. I have gotten a little tied up in WORK WORK WORK that I have forgotten to enjoy. I know, I know rounds a little crazy coming from me but its true. It is all about finding the balance! The other day we left an investigator of 8 months (my “mom” of the mission Hna Burns was the one who knocked her door”). She hasn't been progressing but she is super sweet and always lets the sisters in and always gave just enough hope to the sisters that she would change, but in reality she wasn't changing at all. It was the hardest thing to tell her that we couldn't come by anymore. Maybe one of the hardest moments in the mission but reality is that we are hear to find the people that are willing to put God first NOW. We have 4 people right now that we are working really hard for to try and get them to the waters of baptism. Yesterday one of our investigators and her kids gave us all their tea packets!I spoke in church and was able to speak in Spanish for 10 minutes!!! And I only had 20 min to prepare! Miracles are happening everyday!:) We had a very interesting Sunday after that. We were saddened as we walked house to house fiesta to fiesta on the day of our Lord. I didn't understand the significance of Sunday before my mission but really it is VITAL that we honor this day. At the end of the night we stopped by a members house and it was wonderful to walk into a home where the spirit was. She was reading her scriptures waiting for us to come by so that she could help. She said that my talk inspired her to get out an help the missionaries so that her family would be blessed (she has an inactive husband and children). That is dedication!!! I love this mission. I love this Gospel. I hope all is well with you. Remember that this life is all about preparing to meet God, but we cant be perfect yet, just remember when you fall that you CAN get back up!!!
Hermana Redfern
Love Elder Redfern
P.S. the day after this email I got an email from his Mission Pres wife saying Elder Redfern was running to the bus and sprained his ankle...hopefully it'll heal. If you recall his mission was delayed because of his ankle and the DR said if he sprained it again could mean surgery. UGH! He is down with ice. The Dr assigned to his mission is a ortho surgeon...thats a good thing! Her bday cake and new comp Hmn Bennion
