CRAZY WEEK

This is Gage Harrison Redfern...first son of Steven & Brooke...3rd grandson! We know how to make boys in the Redfern home!

He arrived Sept 8th...missed 9/9/09 by 2 hrs...but he has impeccable timing because we now get to be introduced to him on Saturday.

We leave for Gavins trial tonight...please pray for our family, the judge, for this to be over quickly...it has been an emotional week...the Lord has provided in so many ways.We feel confident, blessed and ready for the fight.

Sept 9th was Breezy's 22nd birthday. I missed her....she is growing in so many ways. I prayed alot last year that she would go on a mission. I knew that's what the Lord wanted her to do but I also knew it needed to be her decision. She is an amazing young lady! The growth is tremendous...as evidenced in her emails...WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU TONS!

I felt really weepy yesterday...those of you who know me well know I am not a real weepy person but just so many emotions. Missing my daughter, worried about my grandson, DIL & son, grateful for a new healthy grandson, grateful for a daughter who has made some incredible changes...walked in her room yesterday...she was studying her scriptures...tears...incredibly thankful for a family that listened to the spirit and helped us and our birthmom get to the trial. So much to be grateful for ...but needing another tender mercy...prays needed 1:30 friday!

Now...this weeks emails

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! (I am just sad that Gage and I wont be sharing the same day!) I feel very lucky to have so many wonderful family and friends who love and support me. It has been a great birthday so far...I have decided the only thing that I want for this birthday is to double the baptisms I have so far in the mission. :) This transfer is going to be awesome! I am with my new comp Hna Bennion...I don't think she is related to Hannah... This have been going great. It definitely is different. I was with my "mom" for almost 4 months, change is a little hard but good. My comp is from Bountiful and is a music major at BYU, plays the harp and loves to sing. She is super fun and goofy. She said at the end of her last transfer she decided that this transfer she wanted to work on setting and reaching goals. Something that for some reason I have come to love doing. And I said I wanted to be focused on having and feeling the spirit in every moment, something she feels like she can help me with, so we are excited to help each other. And this week we had the highest numbers in our district :) Numbers aren't everything but it is really fun to set goals and reach them!!As for the miracle this week. One night we went out with the 2nd counselor from our ward and we hadn't had any luck with getting into houses. We got to one of our last doors and I said "we just need more faith! we are getting in this house even if we have to take down the door:)" I obviously would not take down the door... Anyways finally after 2 times of ringing the door bell Gabriela came to the door, she was in a lot of pain and didn't want to attend us, I looked over at our counselor with sad eyes hoping he had an idea. He showed me his consecrated oil and said "I can give her a blessing." I asked her if she believed in the power of God is real and if we could come in so that she could receive a blessing, she said yes but still resisted, but you all no me, I don't take no for an answer ;) (this is when my bold personality is good!) We testified of the importance and I asked for 5 min. One hour later she received a blessing and the 1st lesson and testified she knew it was true. She came to church and loved every minute. Right now she is working on giving up smoking and will be getting baptised in 2 weeks! She is one of the GOLDEN investigators that you hear about but rarely meet. She knows everything we teach her is true and has a desire to change!! It is wonderful!!I have never felt so content in my whole life. This is what this life is meant for, to bring souls back to our Father in Heaven. There are people who are ready! They are your friends, your family, teach them, love them like our Heavenly Father and help them to come back to him!!I love you all! Keep in touch (you know...dear elder exists and is super easy you can totally write me there!!)

Love always

Hna Redfern

Hey all!

well this week we were busy with the rain! These last 2 weeks the rain season has arrived and will be hear for a while they say. IT comes down hard, but than when it stops, it is sooo hot haha. But the thing is being in such a little town, the roads being all dirt, we just walk in pure mud, constantly cleaning off our shoes. My compaƱero has fallen several times haha, and says my day will come. I was hoping my shoes would last my whole mission, but a couple more months here just might do em in ha. We didnt have very good attendance on sunday, because off the weather, some people literally not being able to leave there houses because espinal is on a hill and would not be able to make it to the hosue of prayer, but we were grateful to have pioneer moments. Speaking of which we as members should be eternally more grateful for the pioneers and everything that they have done. Its hard to say we have trials if we think of what a general pioneer went through in his or her life time. Let us thank God and say ¨All is well¨ O esta, todo bien! We saw a lot of progress from Rosy and Jose this week, as they gave usall there doubts and we contested them well. I love when people are asking questions in stead of mindlessly saying, si.. claro.. si.. ey.. verdad que si... asi es... I was reading the wonderful discourse of Elder David A Bednar this morning that he gave in 2005, The Tender Mercies of the Lord. And it brought me to the point of tears, realizing the simple and great tender mercies my Lord and Redeemer has shown me here in the mission, and throughout my life. Rely on the Lords tender persons, realize that they are there, and that we are never alone. I love the opportunity to hear, read, study, and feast upon the words of living Prophets, seers, and reveladores. Do not abuse this opportunity. These are words as if they came from God. I love you all soo much.

keep the faith.
