HAYLEAS 16TH BDAY

A CAR FOR HER BIRTHDAY!!

Haylea got a car for her 16th bday...I must explain. We are funny about cars with our kids.

FIRST- they have to earn half of what we spend on a car..so the power is in their hands.

SECOND- we NEVER buy them a new car! 96% of teens wreck their first car. We have never spent over $2500 for a car. The best car so far was Chris Honda $500..lasted 2 yrs...no problems...until Steven & Bree took it to college and forgot to take the chains off after the snow was gone.

THIRD- Ponch warned the boys along time ago that he would be more concerned what the girls drove than what they got to drive. Do we have some car stories. They have had some doozies!

FOURTH-they can drive anything pretty much on the lots for special occasions so we try to keep them humble.

FIFTH- When they leave on their missions they sell them...make a profit...that's what happens when you buy used and at a wholesale price. And then they put the money in their mission fund.

But when we get a good deal we go for it! This Acura Integra came in on a trade and we scooped it up ...much to our salespeoples chagrin...the next morning!

We took it to Haylea's Championship Swim Meet and surprised her!
She was shocked!
It was a good day!

Swam her best times!

Got a car!

Turned 16!

Went on her first date and prom!

What more can a 16 yr old ask for?

Well...somehow I am sure she will think of something!
